‘Gilmore Girls’ season 1 recap
Welcome to Stars Hollow! Gilmore Girls kicks off by setting Rory and Lorelai Gilmore a universe apart from the matriarch and patriarch of the Gilmore name in Hartford. However, their worlds collide when Rory leaves the comforts of small town life for the halls of Chilton. With her tuition taken care of by Richard and Emily, a weekly obligation ties the family into a hallmark of the series, Friday Night Dinners.
Hold on tight, we’re about to kick into the Gilmore pace! Rory runs into the first of her highly contested beaus, Dean. Shortly after, a deer runs into Rory causing Lorelai to meet Max. We learn that golf is a good walk spoiled, but a great way to bond with your grandfather. Cinnamon says goodbye and Rory attends two very different birthday parties that result in some funds for Fez.
A meeting by the cornstarch in Doose’s Market results in theft and a first kiss.
Re-enactors freeze in the town square to pay homage to a battle that never happened. Rory’s dance forces a rift between Emily and Lorelai. Richard suffers a heart attack that forces the family to put their quarrels into perspective. Luke gets a new hat. A wonderful night out for Sookie and Jackson is almost Rune-d. Meanwhile, that damn Donna Reed and has more than one chick losing her way.
Max makes his way into Stars Hollow and the hearts of Lorelai and Rory. But Paris has other intentions for this mother-teacher relationship. Dean drops the L-word in a half built car and Rory can’t return the sentiment. The break up leads to an ill-timed kiss with Tristan and a reunion between Lorelai and Max. Differences are resolved, everyone loves each other (and can say so out loud), and Max proposes with well over 1,000 daisies.

Richard gets back in the saddle using Rory’s school project to instigate his return to the working man’s life.
Rory and Dean are holding strong, but Jess has other plans for the town’s favorite couple. It all starts with a picnic basket and slowly rolls into a complicated, flirtatious friendship. Luke pushes the two together when Jess begins to fail all of his classes. But a trip for ice cream lands Rory in the hospital and Jess with a one way ticket out of Stars Hollow.
He’s not gone for long, though! Rory misses her mother’s graduation to visit Jess in NYC and gets a proper goodbye this time.
Jess returns just as Rory considers heading to Washington for the summer and Christopher begins getting cozy living with his two favorite ladies. ‘Gilmore Girls’ season 3 recap
The summer winds down and Rory’s senior year kicks off! College application dread looms over the entire senior class, but Jess seems too preoccupied with rubbing his summer fling in Rory’s face to care. Dean tries to ignore it all and gives Rory his undivided attention, while Lane tries to stick it to her mother with a new purple dye job.
Sherrie’s pregnancy takes the girls to Boston where they load up on deviled eggs and use the leftovers to vandalize Jess’ car. The 24-hour dance marathon arrives and Lorelai’s determination to win causes her to miss her daughter’s public humiliation. Finally, Dean walks away from Rory and Jess steps forward.
A rocky start between the new lovers causes some tension between Lorelai and Luke as they navigate their guardian roles. One of four Thanksgivings nearly sets the town on fire and the winter carnival signals the second coming of Richard’s mother.
A new baby for Christopher leaves Rory to handle the delivery, while flashbacks to Lorelai’s teen days unearths the buried drama surrounding Rory’s birth.

Richard gives Lorelai $75,000 when an investment he made in her name pays out. The funds allow her to pay Emily and Richard back for Chilton, but it also causes Yale to red flag their application for financial aid. Never fear, Richard and Emily are here to help Rory out, which makes them happier than anything in the world.
Max returns for a brief moment, while Dean and Jess duke it out over Rory at Kyle’s party. Jess gets an unexpected visit from his father and follows him all the way to California. Rory graduates from Chilton, everyone cries, and Sookie and Lorelai finally get their inn!
