The Walking Dead‘s Laurie Holden, who stars as Andrea, has revealed that Carl Grimes “is the only one safe” ahead of The Walking Dead season 3 finale. Who do you think might be killed off?
The Walking Dead has certain elements that make the series such an incredible hit worldwide and one of the stand-out attributes is the writers forcing the characters to live in the most unstable world, resulting in nerve-wracking tension and creating an atmosphere where characters can be killed off at any point. And, as The Walking Dead season 3 finale draws ever nearer, fans are desperate to know just who won’t be with them come The Walking Dead‘s season 4 premiere presumably this October.
One character who won’t be leaving is Carl Grimes, played by one of America’s brightest young talent’s, Chandler Riggs, according to Laurie Holden in an interview with The Huffington Post. Holden is quoted as saying that, “The only person who’s really safe is Carl. I know that people don’t want to hear that, but it’s true. There’s going to be more major deaths before the end of the season and no one is safe.”
However, Greg Nicotero, one of the executive producers on The Walking Dead looked at the darker side of The Walking Dead and noted that, “We’ve established a certain scenario on our show where nobody is safe, and certainly in the back-half of our season, it doesn’t get easy for anybody. We have the whole Woodbury community with The Governor and our principal cast. We’ll probably end our season minus a cast member or two.”
And after last night’s episode, 3×13 “Arrow on the Doorpost” The Walking Dead is drawing ever closer to the season 3 finale and it’s certainly staged to hold one of the best season finales after Rick declaring that they are going to war in Sunday night’s episode. The Walking Dead has used season 3 to develop the characters, and Rick’s transformation from the previous two seasons has been nothing short of remarkable.
If we look ahead to The Walking Dead season 4, Gale Anne Hurd, has already commented that we’ll be seeing an amplified threat of zombies, because “they’ve started to seem like a manageable threat. They are not a manageable threat.”
What are you most looking forward to regarding The Walking Dead season 3 finale? And, if you look ahead to The Walking Dead season 4, what do you think is going to happen with the zombies?
This Sunday sees the next instalment of The Walking Dead with 3×14 “Prey” over on AMC at 9pm ET/PT.
