Harry Potter alum Matthew Lewis has landed a new TV role: he’ll be joining Ripper Street for its fourth season!
From Hogwarts to 19th century London, Matthew Lewis (who’s grown up very well, in case you missed the memo) has lined up his next role.
Lewis will be joining the cast of Amazon’s Ripper Street, a period drama exploring the mystery of Jack the Ripper.

While there is no official info about his role, this tweet from Lewis hints that he’ll be playing one of the policemen investigating the murders:
Sometimes I like to dress like a 19th Century policeman and insist somebody takes pictures of me next to a horse. pic.twitter.com/xdStaC2cMc

Also joining Ripper Street season 4 is Shameless actor David Threlfall, who’ll be playing the villain Abel Croker, as well as Jonas Armstrong, Killian Scott and David Warner.
They will be joining main stars Matthew Macfadyen, Adam Rothenberg, Charlene McKenna and Jerome Flynn.

Ripper Street was originally cancelled by the BBC after two seasons, but Amazon stepped in to save the series in season 3. The streaming service commissioned a fourth and fifth season earlier this year.
The third season of Ripper Street has just begun airing on BBC One in the U.K.
Matthew Lewis recently completed filming Me Before You, which also stars Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin and Jenna Coleman. The movie is set for release in 2016.
