Matthew Lewis strips for steamy photoshoot, J.K. Rowling is scandalized

Matthew Lewis bares it all for Attitude Magazine. While the internet is busy losing its collective mind, however, J.K. Rowling just wants him to put some clothes on.

We’re not sure what we love more about this story: that Neville Longbottom grew into such a hottie, or that J.K. Rowling is trying to protect his virtue.

Matthew Lewis, former Harry Potter star and current breaker of our hearts, is Attitude Magazine’s cover star for June 2015.

The steamy photoshoot is enough to send all the fangirls and fanboys into a wild frenzy:

Attitude Matthew Lewis

As Attitude writes, “Matt admits he’s reveling in his newfound heartthrob status.” So we’ll assume he’s okay with us drooling a little… or a lot. Because wow.

“I’ve never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average,” Lewis says in the interview, all modesty of course (because THAT’S not going to make him seem more attractive).

However, the pictures have clearly stirred a protective instinct in J.K. Rowling — he will always be her Neville, after all — and she felt the need to share her surprise on Twitter:

Jo is exactly like a concerned mother, and we love it! It got even better when Matt noticed, and replied, “Well, this is awkward. Sorry, Jo…” We can almost see him shuffling his feet and bowing his head in shame.

J.K. Rowling then won the internet when she added this typical mom response:

Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) also felt the need to chime in, hilariously asking, “Surely Neville Pertbottom now?” Jo responded that she didn’t notice Matt’s physique because, “I hastily averted my eyes and read an article on Political Correctness to get over the shock.”

This is just amazing. Please continue to protect the virtue of your Potter kids, Jo!

Matt Lewis can be seen in the TV series Bluestone 42, and is currently working on Me Before You, an all-star drama with Emilia Clarke, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman and Sam Claflin.
