have checked with some high up sources and am 100% sure Marvel has not regained the movie rights to Fantastic Four. The rumor is not true.

We really, really thought this summer’s Fantastic Four flop marked the end of this particular superhero franchise.
But Marvel’s original superheroes may find their way back in the fold, if this new rumor is to be believed.
Den of Geek has learned exclusively that Marvel may have struck a deal with Fox for the rights to Fantastic Four, with the first installment of the re-reboot slated for 2020.
If this is true, it’d actually make a lot of sense considering the recent news that Marvel and Fox are working together to bring the two X-Men franchise series Hellfire and Legion to TV.
“According to our source, Fox were given the TV rights for X-Men in exchange for Fantastic Four,” Den of Geek writes, adding that this is a deal the studios have been working on for a while. It hasn’t been confirmed by an independent source yet so stay tuned for an explicit confirmation/denial.

How this potential Fantastic Four movie will affect Marvel’s recently altered Phase Three schedule remains to be seen.
The most interesting thing about this news isn’t the movie itself, but rather the crossover potential that this allows for. The Fantastic Four heroes find themselves battling many iconic villains, that are also likely to be facing the Avengers in future movies.
It is very unlikely that Marvel would bring back the cast of Josh Trank’s movie (any relation to the failed Fox movie will probably be avoided), so we’ll be looking at our third set of Fantastic Four heroes within the span of 15 years. This puts Fantastic Four right up there with Spider-Man in terms of reboot rate.
