Hulu’s How I Met Your Father spinoff has found its newest cast member in Brandon Micheal Hall.
Update (8/13/2021): Deadline reports that actor Brandon Micheal Hall (best known for his works on sitcoms such as God Friended Me and The Mayor) has officially joined the cast of the upcoming How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Father.
The spinoff, which was first announced back in April of this year, stars Hilary Duff, who will serve as the show’s narrator, Sophie.
For his part, Hall is set to take on the role of Ian. Described as smart and funny, Ian starts off as one of Sophie’s Tinder matches before eventually going on to meet her in person.
Also set to star opposite Duff in the Hulu spinoff is Veronica Mars vet, Chris Lowell.

According to Deadline, Veronica Mars vet Chris Lowell is the latest to join the cast of Hulu’s upcoming How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Father.
Lowell joins actress Hilary Duff, who will star in the series as its narrator Sophie.
Much like HIMYM, How I Met Your Father the series will pick up with Sophie (Duff) in the future where she’ll be regaling her kids with the story of how she met their dad, before catapulting viewers back to the year 2021.

Sophie in 2021, along with her tight-knit group of friends are in the middle of trying to figure out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to find love in the age of online dating.
As for Chris Lowell, the Promising Young Woman alum will take on the role of Sophie’s friend, Jesse. Jesse is described as smart, with a bit of an edge. He’s cynical when it comes to love, and an aspiring musical who currently works as an Uber driver.
Behind the camera, the series hails from Isaac Aptker and Elizabeth Berger (This Is Us,Love, Victor).
Adam Londy will serve as co-executive producer, and Hilary Duff will serve as a producer. Also on board to serve as executive producers on the project are original series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.
Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see How I Met Your Father debut via Hulu.
