In a promo airing last night, ABC announced that How to Get Away With Murder will be returning for a second season.
After last night’s season finale of How to Get Away With Murder you may have stuck around to see the quick promo released at the end of the episode, along with the exciting news that the show will be back for season 2. The promo never says the words “renewed” but it does say that the show will return in the Fall.

Warning: Do not watch if you do not want the season 1 finale to be spoiled!
The news of the renewal is not shocking, as the ABC show has continually been a ratings hit. From the beginning there was no doubting Shonda Rhimes’ power and the series opened up to 14 million viewers. It even became the top-rated 10 p.m. drama in the 18-49 demo. Creator Pete Nowalk himself took to Twitter to promote the second season with the hashtag “season2awaits.”
Were you surprised?? Thanks to our stellar fans & genius cast & badass crew for making #HTGAWM a job I love. #backtovacation #season2awaits
