‘Gilmore Girls’ season 4 recap

Emily hijacks Rory’s last night home before she heads to Yale, but Lorelai takes the mother-daughter bond to a whole new level by sleeping over in the dorm. Luckily, Stars Hollow is just a short drive away! Dean is ready to walk down the aisle! Lane’s beau Dave heads west to California (more specifically The O.C.)! Luke ties the knot on a boat!

Also, we learn the law of movie nights: No talking, no moving, no phone calls, no breaks.

Jason “Digger” Styles makes his way into Richard and Emily’s home and Lorelai’s pants. Richard learns who Moby is, while Emily loses her Russian-theme party to Atlantic City. Rory takes a stab at writing for the Yale Daily News and receives death threats from a ballerina. Sookie has her first kid, Davy.

Happy flask puts everyone at ease during the Yale-Harvard game, except for Pennilyn Lott, who butts in at precisely the wrong time. Paris meets Asher Fleming and the two begin their May-December romance.

Lane gets kicked out of her house after taking a 2 a.m. trip to New York City to not play at CBGB’s. Luke “moves” out of Stars Hollow and it causes a rift with Lorelai. But the two rediscover common ground when they break the bells. Speaking of crazy, Luke’s sister Liz arrives and ushers in a new wave a Jess drama.

This time instead of not saying goodbye, Jess tells Rory he loves her and bolts as fast as his beat up car can take him.

Luke loans Lorelai some money to finish her inn, Rory cries to Dean, and Emily discovers that Richard’s late mother urged him to call off their wedding.

Jason and Lorelai are sleeping together, but not in the same room and hiding it from their parents. However, the “Digger” name runs in the family and Jason’s dad unearths this fact when he tries to sabotage Jason and Richard’s business. Now that people are suing each other all over the place, Jason parts ways with both Richard and Lorelai. Elsewhere, Luke and Nicole finalize their divorce after Luke beats up a car.

Luke moves on quickly when he realizes whose face he can see. Liz and her fiancé get hitched in Stars Hollow. Luke asks Lorelai on a date after he twirls her around the dance floor.

The Dragonfly is open for business and many, many things happen in the span of 45 minutes. Lorelai and Luke finally kiss! Rory and Dean sleep together! Kirk runs naked through the town square! Emily and Richard call it quits!

‘Gilmore Girls’ season 5 recap

All of that cannot possibly be resolved, so we pick up right where we left off in season 4 with Rory and Dean. Lorelai is rightfully upset since, you know, Dean is married. This fight prompts Rory to fly off to Europe for a summer with her grandmother. Meanwhile, Luke is forced to put their relationship on hold for three months while he tends to his sister’s injuries on the Renaissance circuit.

The two EVENTUALLY go on a proper date where Luke reveals exactly how long he’s been pining for Lorelai. (Hint: it’s a LONG time!) Rory returns to Yale where she meets Logan Huntzberger (Finn and Colin, too) while she helps Paris mourn the loss of Asher. Jackson dethrones Taylor as town-selectman, Dean tries to weasel his way back into the Gilmore way of life, and Rory starts to drink the Life and Death Brigade kool-aid.

Luke and Lorelai’s relationship undergoes the official Gilmore screening process (he fails on all accounts). Dean and Rory’s relationship undergoes the Gilmore screening process (he also fails on all accounts, but it’s on Rory’s scale, not theirs).

Rory loses a prospective college student, Richard and Emily find a dog, and Christopher’s father dies. Richard and Emily grow tired of walking around the pool and reunite with a wedding for the ages. But Emily catches wind of Lorelai’s desire to walk down the aisle and sends Christopher to put an end to it.

Rory and Logan hook up, Luke and Lorelai break up, and Emily loses touch with both of her girls as a result.

Luke volunteers to work an elementary school production of Fiddler starring Kirk. The diner owner also ostracizes all of his customers, but ultimately gets his girl back. Finally, Rory decides she is not a casual dater and gets Logan to commit to a relationship.

Unfortunately, his family does not agree with his choice of partner and instead of their blessing, they give Rory an internship.

Well, we all know how that plays out. Rory is told she doesn’t have the chops for the job, she steals a boat, gets arrested, then landslides into quitting Yale and living in the pool house.

Lorelai tries to fix it all and when she can’t, she proposes to Luke. (How modern!)

‘Gilmore Girls’ season 6 recap

Housing construction, Paul Anka (the dog!), and far too many D.A.R functions kick off Gilmore Girls season 6. No one, and I mean no one, thinks that Rory’s departure from Yale is a great idea. But these things must run their course, and they do, all while Lane returns from her church tour, Sookie baptizes her kids and Jackson, and Richard finds out that Lorelai was right all along.

Luke and Lorelai’s wedding is on hold and so is the printing of the Dragonfly’s new business cards with their Sores and Boils Alley address. Rory turns 21 and Jess shows up to give her the kick in the pants she needs to get her life back on track.

Nine episodes later, all is well!

Now, Lorelai finally jumps into wedding planning mode. Say it with me, June 3! But Luke now has a daughter issue to deal with, April Nardini. One hair pluck and bam, Luke is a dad to a teenager. This causes some tension when Luke finally tells Lorelai, by accident and months after the fact.

Speaking of tension, the Yale Daily News kicks Paris out and puts Rory in, while Lane moves out of her house after breaking up with Zach. The Gilmores decide it is time to air grievances. “Friday Night’s Alright for Fighting” runs the gamut of everything from Rory’s conception to Rory quitting the D.A.R.

Source

Luke and Logan play basketball, Lorelai babysits Chris’ daughter Gigi, Lane and Zach get engaged and Luke hits the road with a bus full of teenagers. Somewhere along the way, Logan slept with everyone in his sister’s bridal party and Rory finds Jess once again.

Logan jumps off a cliff after a fight with Rory and nearly dies. Emily has eye surgery and tries to buy Luke and Lorelai a house. Lorelai is informed that she is not to be a part of April’s life. Lane and Zach get hitched, sending Lorelai into a rant about Luke not wanting to settle down and set a date in front of the whole town.

It’s now or never, baby. Luke says he needs more time, but the clock has expired for Lorelai. And, apparently, her clock was set to sleep with Christopher.
