The DC Universe has found its new Supergirl in Sasha Calle.
The Young and the Restless vet Sasha Calle has officially scored the coveted role of Supergirl.
Fans of the DC superhero can look forward to seeing Calle make her big screen debut in Warner Brothers’ The Flash.
Directed by It: Chapter 2 helmer Andy Muschietti, the forthcoming solo superhero flick finds Ezra Miller returning to reprise his Justice League role as the titular speedster.
When it came to casting Calle in the coveted role as the newest hero to join DC’s big screen universe, Deadline reports that Muschietti was directly involved in the process of finding the right person to don the cape.
“I saw more than four hundred auditions. The talent pool was truly amazing and it was very hard to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role,” said Muschietti of Sasha Calle according to Deadline.
Shortly after news broke, the director took to Instagram to share video footage of the moment he told Calle that she’d scored the much sought after role of Supergirl.
“Been doing a lot of flashbacks lately but today is about a Flash forward,” wrote Muschietti in the caption of the video.
