Our beloved Community has an ominous future. It won’t be showing in the mid-season, but will it ever return? (Six seasons and a movie!)
According to various sources, Community will be pushed aside this season to be replaced by 30 Rock (which we also love) and a new show based on Chelsea Handler’s life. As the show with the wittiest dialogue and the most spot-on pop culture references, we were shocked. Supposedly, it is not cancelled, but right now, it’s all rumor.
Here is the report from The Chicago Tribune:
Bill Carter of “The New York Times” told his coworker, Brian Stelter, that “Community” is definitely not canceled. (That’s what Stetler tweeted, anyway.)
And NYMag.com’s The Vulture reported the following:
30 Rock will air at 8 p.m., replacing the low-rated Community for an indefinite amount of time. NBC’s press release ominously includes no mention of the Greendale gang, but a Peacock spokeswoman assures Vulture that the show is simply being put “on the bench for a bit” and will return; exactly when, however, is unclear.
What are your thoughts on this atrocity? Is Community‘s future grim? Give us your thoughts and we will cope together!
