B-boy Elusive performed next. The judges again say how stiff the dance competition is this year, and Howie can’t wait for the dance-off between him and Turf. Sharon doesn’t know that it’s a million dollar act. Howard had previously liked him more than Turf, but he’s unsure if he’ll go through or not as he didn’t think the performance was spectacular tonight.
Jake Wesley Rogers has a very strong voice, but this was easily his weakest performance. Howard didn’t think that Rogers was able to connect with “Toxic.” Howie didn’t like the arrangement of the song and that a singer would need to blow everyone away because he doesn’t think a singer will win this year. Sharon reminds everyone that he is 15 years old and that he is her favorite of the night so far.
All Wheel Sports – but mainly people jumping on trampolines – took the stage next. Sharon loves the combination of everything and thinks it’s the best act of this kind to come on the show. Howard loved it but doesn’t know that America will send them on. Howie said that he saw a headlining act at Las Vegas, but doesn’t think it translated to TV. He’s right.
The New York City based band Wordspit and The Illest took the stage next with a very risky song choice – an original song. Howie said that they were and are his favorite group that auditioned for the show. He thinks that they made the most disastrous choice they could have made by performing an original song. Sharon called their energy fantastic, but viewers at home can’t feel the energy. She agrees that choosing an original song was a bad choice. Howard loved that they did original music as it shows that they can write music. He also said the song they performed was an amazing song. They wanted to come out and give us them, not somebody else.
