The duo that seemed like it might better as a one-person act finally proved why it’s key that it is a duo. Eric and Olivia seemed like Olivia was the star and Eric was unnecessary, but they let us know tonight that Eric does all the arrangements. Sharon said Olivia had a great, unusual voice. Howie still thought the act was a smaller act than a million-dollar act. Howard said that they were great, but they didn’t have enough to make it past this crop.
The stage belonged to Lindsey Norton next, and she owned it. Howie called it indescribable. He said that America has a tough choice ahead of them. Howard called it beautiful and that she deserves to go through, but can’t figure out who will. Sharon loves Lindsey more every time she sees her. Sharon thought America would vote for her.
Nick Cannon asked that you don’t try Horse‘s act anywhere. The king of the nut shots told us why he chose the name Horse. Just as Bruce Wayne chose Batman because of his fear of bats, Horse chose his name for his fear of horses, but instead of fighting crime he gets hit in the nuts. Howard said that he finds it hilarious and that it’s an act you either love or hate, just like his own radio show. Sharon said it was entertaining. Howie said talent is objective and that it’s a really good act because it engages the audience.
Quite possibly the best animal act ever, the Olate Dogs looked to prove just that. Predictably, they got a huge standing ovation. Sharon didn’t know what to say. She called them magnificent. Howie said he’s seen all kinds of dog acts, but he’s never seen anything with this amount of skill. Howard said he loved the act and that all he could say was, “WOW!”
Predictions to advance: This is unsure as we’ve ever been, but since we have to pick we will. We’re almost positive about William Close and the Olate Dogs, and we predict the other two will be Eric Dittelman and Joe Castillo. We don’t see how you can leave out Sebastien “El Charro de Oro” and think that Lindsey Norton deserves to make it through as well.
While it did make for a fantastic episode, we think it was wrong of the producers to lump this many good acts together. We think that all six of the previously mentioned acts are better than Maurice and Shanice Hayes, Edon, and the Scott Brothers, three of the four advancing acts from the first quarterfinal. It really isn’t fair to the performers who took the stage last night, as many of them that were good just didn’t have a shot.
America’s Got Talent will be back tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the results from last night’s show.
