America’s Got Talent was back last night the most exciting night of the season, and quite possibly ever. Here’s our recap of last night’s show.
Up first was David “The Bullet” Smith who took his act to the next level by attempting to score a 40-yard field goal – with himself. Howard says people don’t understand how dangerous this is. He said 85% of the people who have tried to do this stunt are dead. Smith confirmed this was true. Sharon and Howard both thought he had missed the target and thought he was dead. Sharon thought he needed to fly over “a bed of alligators on fire.” Howie thought it was amazing, but he wondered where he can go with this act. If Smith were to win this show, we wonder how an act like this could be a show, so that should be a factor.
The stereotype-breaking, all-male clogging group All That! took the stage next. Sharon wanted them to come back with leather trousers, no tops, and lots of oil. Howie didn’t want to see the same thing. He thought it was really cool to see eight guys clog, but he thought the night was so talent-filled that they might not make it. Howard said Sharon was right in the fact that it needed something more. Howard loved them, but didn’t know that they did enough.
Ulysses, the ever opinion-splitting crooner, took the stage next. He got “X’s” from all three judges. Howie said “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” He said that Ulysses changed too much from the act he liked. Howard likened him to what is wrong with America – including the economy and terrorism. He said that he was right about the fact that Ulysses shouldn’t have been here. Sharon agreed with Howie that she loved what Ulysses was, not what he did tonight.
The sand artist Joe Castillo performed another amazing act. Howard called him unique, amazing, that he belonged there, and that he’s a genius. Sharon said it was absolutely incredible, moving, and said thank you. Howie said thank you as well and loved that his work was so moving. He noted that it’s clear that Castillo’s deceased father who wanted him to be an artist was with him there tonight.
