Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will not be at San Diego Comic-Con this year and fans, cast, and crew, have a thing or two to say.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a staple of Marvel Television’s lineup since 2013. But when the studio revealed their San Diego Comic-Con lineup today, Coulson and co. were nowhere to be found.
Instead, fans will be able to geek out over the new ABC series Marvel’s Inhumans, as well as Netflix’s long-awaited team-up show, Defenders. The Gifted, a new X-Men-based series from Fox, will also be in attendance.
The omission of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is most likely due to the scheduling shift planned for season 5. The show will premiere after the eight-episode run of Inhumans, though a full season is still planned.
But fans accustomed to enjoying a shot-in-the-arm of Team S.H.I.E.L.D. (and anxious for hints about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5) haven’t been shy about expressing their disappointment in the change.

Wow you guys misspelled AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. so many times in this press release.

How is this "fan-favorites" if #AgentsOfSHIELD won't be present? A bit of an oxymoron don't you think… ?

#AgentsOfSHIELD SHOULD be at SDCC. It's your flagship show, the reason any of the other shows exist. Fix this. Do better.

Though some did have a sense of humor about it.

Series star Clark Gregg was also quick to express his regret on Twitter. Emphasizing his gratitude to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fanbase, Gregg promised that the crew would be out in force at New York Comic Con this fall.

Executive producer and showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen also chimed in with a similar sentiment as transmedia producer Geoff Colo.
Truly sorry we won't be at #SDCC but we hope to see you at #NYCC.Just know we're working hard to bring you an awesome S5 of #AgentsofSHIELD.

So bummed @Marvel #AgentsofSHIELD can't make SDCC, but the cast will be attending @NY_Comic_Con in October. That's a first for us! pic.twitter.com/qyptGjhKYl

There’s no question that an SDCC sans Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s classic appearance won’t be the same. But at least it looks like there are plans to deliver exactly what this loyal fanbase deserves.
