Fans of The CW’s Walker and Superman & Lois can look forward to an even longer first season for both series.
In a press release sent out on Wednesday (February 3), The CW announced that it has ordered additional episodes of both its Walker, Texas Ranger reboot, Walker, as well as its newest DC series, Superman & Lois.
As part of the extra order, Walker will get five additional episodes tacked on to its first season, bringing its total episode count up to 18. Meanwhile, Superman & Lois will have its original episode count bumped up by 2 for 15 episodes total.
News of the additional episodes for both new series comes as The CW dishes out early newest to 12 of its current series for next season. In addition to the two newcomers, the network has also picked up All American, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In The Darkness, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Roswell, New Mexico, and Walker for its 2021-2022 season.

In a statement announcing the big news, CW CEO Mark Pedowitz said the goal of the mass renewal and the extra episode orders was made in an effort to allow the creators behind each of the series to get a head start on planning out their forthcoming seasons.
“As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons,” said Pedowitz. “We are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of Walker, which debuts as our most watched series premiere in five years.”
Walker airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. Superman & Lois is set to premiere February 23 on The CW.
