Looks like the planned Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff won’t be going forward as planned over at The CW.
According to Deadline, The CW has opted not to go forward with developing a planned spinoff for its hit DC superhero series, Arrow.
It’s bad news for fans who enjoyed the first episode of the Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff, which originally aired its first episode as part of a backdoor pilot back in January during Arrow’s eighth and final season.
The spinoff found Shadowhunters vet Katherine McNamara starring as Mia Queen.

Set in Star City in the year 2040, the pilot episode clued fans into the fact that Mia has been living a successful and happy life alongside her fiancé. But Mia suddenly finds her life upended when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) waltzing back into her life once more, and talk her into once again taking up the Green Arrow mantle. For their part, Laurel and Dinah return after Laurel and Dinah team up to recover Helena Bertinelli’s missing daughter, Bianca.
While Arrow might not be getting its planned spinoff, The CW certainly isn’t lacking in spinoff content.
Currently, the network has quite a few spinoffs in development— including a prequel for The 100.
Other spinoffs currently in development at the network include a Nancy Drew spinoff titled Tom Swift, as well as a spinoff of the network’s football drama, All-American
