Looks like Agent Johnson will be back in action for The Matrix 4. Actor Daniel Bernhardt has officially signed on to reprise his role.
According to Deadline, actor Daniel Bernhardt has officially signed on to join the cast of the highly anticipated fourth installment of The Matrix franchise.
Bernhardt will be reprising his role as Agent Johnson for The Matrix 4— a character we last saw as part of 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded.
For those who need a bit of a refresher, Agent Johnson serves as the leader of the upgraded Agents, who’s gotten into quite a few scuffs with Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity.
Bernhardt is the latest familiar face set to return for the fourth film in the franchise. Other returning cast members include Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss who will be reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.
Also returning is Jada Pinkett-Smith, who will once again take on the role of Niobe. Meanwhile, original co-writer and co-director, Lana Wachowski. Wachowski will once again serve as writer and director for the newest film.
Wachowski has rounded out the cast of Matrix 4 with a slew of recognizable names including Aquaman and Watchmen breakout star Yahoo Abdul-Mateen II, Iron Fist vet Jessica Henwick, and Neil Patrick Harris. Additionally, we learned at the beginning of the year that Priyanka Chopra Jonas was also in talks to join the cast of the highly anticipated film.
Details surrounding the plot of Matrix 4 as well as the new characters we’ll meet are being kept firmly under wraps for now.
The film, which has recently resumed production following a halt in filming due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, is set to debut in theaters on April 1, 2022.
