It’s about to get a bit harder for fans of Marvel’s Loki and Scarlet Witch to resist signing up for Disney’s upcoming online streaming service!
When Disney eventually launches its forthcoming online streaming platform, they’ll be entering an extremely saturated market. With so many streaming services to choose from, it’s clear that consumers are getting picky when it comes to deciding where they’d like to spend their hard earned dollars.
Even so, it’s clear Disney is well aware of the stiff competition, and now it’s looking like they’re gearing up to make it harder for fans of superheroes to resist signing up for their new streaming platform!
Variety reports that Disney is currently in the process of working on a few new Marvel series that’ll be premiering exclusively via their new streaming site.
The shows are being billed as limited series (six to eight episodes each) and they’ll center on some Marvel fan favorites that we’ve already been introduced to as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Currently, Disney is looking to tackle Loki and Scarlet Witch first, but that’s not even the most exciting tidbit.
According to Variety, who was first to report the news, the studio is also looking to bring original actors Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen back to reprise their roles for the limited series. If they can swing that, it would be a huge game changer as far as Marvel TV entities go.
Though Marvel and Disney have yet to comment on whether the rumors are true, it would make sense for Disney to invest further in bringing the Marvel Universe to life.
Though some might be suffering from superhero fatigue, it’s clear the superhero flick isn’t going away — especially if the impressive box office numbers for entities like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War are anything to go off of.
With that in mind planning a few series around characters they’ve already introduced as part of the cinematic universe seems like an incredibly smart move, so we’ll be curious to see if the rumors prove to be true!
