‘Doctor Who’
Doctor: “Sleep, that knits up the ravelled sleeve of care. The death of each day’s life, sore labor’s bath. Balm of hurt minds, chief nourisher in life’s great feast. Congratulations, Professor. You’ve revolutionized the labor market. You’ve conquered nature… You’ve also created an abomination.”
The Doctor doesn’t like the Morpheus machine one bit. Sleep should be enjoyed and savored, never rushed.
‘The Walking Dead’
Abraham: “I know this group, and I know Rick. And whatever happened back there is being managed and kicked right up into its own ass one way or another I know that. We got beer. And air conditioning. And WALLS. The table is set for the rest of our lives and I hope those years to be long and fruitful. I see that time before me and I’ve been feeling the urge to make some plays. Before the great cosmic Pete comes to cut my throat unceremoniously and I gurgle my last breath. Things are gonna go on for a while before that. That hadn’t occurred to me before. Been kinda living check to check on that point. I like the way you call bullshit, Sasha. I believe I’d like to get to know you a whole lot better.”
After a very odd day that started with herding walkers, and ended up with Abraham and Sasha hunkering down after being shot at, Abraham tells his version of how life is while they wait for Daryl to show up. It all kind of actually makes sense, including the worst pick-up line ever.
‘Once Upon a Time’
Emma: “What are they now?”
Hook: “A reminder that all sins can be forgiven when someone loves you, and I was absolutely wrong before. I love you Emma Swann, no matter what you’ve done.”
Hook’s flare for accessorizing has a much deeper meaning. All of the rings on his hand symbolize the innocent people he killed during his journey ruling the high seas. They are no longer trophies of a life led by revenge, but a reminder of the times he was lacking love. Can Emma’s dark acts ever truly be forgiven?
