J.K. Rowling is back at number one. As of this Thursday her new book The Cuckoo’s Calling will sit atop USA Today’s Best-Selling Books list.
Rowling published her second adult novel under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith this past March, but a leak by the law firm helping keep the secret caused The Cuckoo’s Calling‘s real author to be revealed.
The author was understandably “very angry” at the leak. “To say that I am disappointed is an understatement,” she said. “A tiny number of people knew my pseudonym, and it has not been pleasant to wonder for days how a woman whom I had never heard of prior to Sunday night could have found out something that many of my oldest friends did not know.”
Retailers had a difficult time keeping up with demand for The Cuckoo’s Calling when the revelation was made in the middle of July. After a second print-run, the book appears to now be fully in stock at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Order the book now.

The book currently sits at the #1 position on Amazon’s books list as well. The New York Times’ July 28 Bestsellers list does not include The Cuckoo’s Calling.
