Claire Danes, who plays the wonderful Carrie Mathison, is on set filming Homeland season 3, and we get our first glimpse of her in character.
Homeland has been sorely missed throughout the past several months, and fans will be excited to know that Homeland season 3 filming is finally underway.
Claire Danes, who is the heart of the show, has donned her Carrie Mathison persona and has started shooting scenes for next season in Charlotte, NC.
As we just mentioned though, Claire Danes is back shooting in Charlotte, and we have a wonderful gallery courtesy of the Charlotte Observer, with photo credits to Robert Lahser, T. Ortega Gaines, Bert Fox, and Mark Hames.

Carrie is certainly in a deep mess as we can see throughout the gallery, but it’s great to see her back. The scenes were shot right in the middle of the Charlotte Observer’s newsroom, and we can’t quite describe how jealous we are of this.
Neither Showtime, nor the Charlotte Observer have given anything away regarding the scenes, so we’ll have to wait and see what is happening with Carrie. All we know is that this scene will be in the second episode according to Gansa.
Unfortunately, there’s just no telling what this scene has to do with the plot, but thankfully we have a very clear idea with what is happening in regards to Homeland season 3.
The Homeland season 3 plot will open “during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist – Nick Brody (Damian Lewis). As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabout.”
How excited are you to see the return of Carrie Mathison to our screens? What are your thoughts regarding the upcoming season?
Homeland season 3 premieres on September 29, over on Showtime.
