While Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad’s promotion is ramping up, we now know when Wonder Woman and Justice League will start filming, as well as some new details concerning the directors and both movies’ productions.
Empire has been releasing some pretty amazing images from Batman v Superman, and now some information Empire acquired during their interviews with Warner Bros.’ DC producers and directors reveal the production dates for their upcoming movies. See the quote below, which was viewed via a Tweet:
“As Batman v Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, Deborah Snyder, along with Roven, is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn. Suicide Squad, already well underway in Toronto under the earthy gaze of Ayer, will shoot through to September. ‘I do watch the dailies,’ she promises, enthusing about the film’s ‘street quality.’ They are already doing soft prep for the Justice League, which will begin shooting in the spring, and overseeing the script for Aquaman, which James Wan will direct.”

While Marvel has been ahead of the pack with their solid superhero movies, it looks like DC and Warner Bros. have begun fleshing out their production plans. Zack Snyder will start filming Justice League in spring 2016 after he’s finished with Batman v Superman’s promotion.
Patty Jenkins will begin shooting Wonder Woman later this year in London, which we now know will also co-star Chris Pine. The film will hit theaters on June 23, 2017, with Justice League coming out November 12.
The script for Aquaman is currently being worked on, and will be directed by James Wan, with Zack Snyder overseeing a lot of what’s happening in the DC film universe. This is somewhat similar to what we saw with Joss Whedon after his success with The Avengers. Snyder’s Justice League Part 2 will hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
It’s a lot of planning for movies we won’t be seeing for a few years, but a lot of people are excited about Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad after their Comic-Con trailers landed recently, and we look forward to seeing what the studio has in store for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Justice League.
