FX has officially ordered the first season of the vampire-starring horror comedy, What We Do in the Shadows.
The show will be a half-hour comedy, done in a style similar to the 2014 mockumentary film of the same name. EW reports that it will be set in New York, and will follow three vampires who have been roommates for centuries!
The most exciting part about this is that the team who created the hilarious movie, Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi (most recently known for Thor: Ragnarok), will be helming the project. Joining the duo as executive producers will be Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Garrett Basch.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Clement and Waititi will be resuming their starring roles in What We Do in the Shadows. Although the 10 episode first season won’t premiere until spring 2019, it has already found its cast. The comedy will star Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen. None of these actors were attached to the film.
