The final moments of The Walking Dead season 4 were bothersome to fans of the comics because Rick used a TV-safe word instead of the one said in Robert Kirkman’s comic series.
“They’re messing with the wrong people,” Rick tells his friends at the very end of season 4 which aired at the end of March. The screen goes to black immediately after and left fans wishing season 5 wasn’t as far away as October.
In a clip that has surfaced from The Walking Dead season 4 DVD and Blu-ray, we finally get to hear Rick say the last line the way Kirkman wrote it in the comic series. “They’re fucking with the wrong people,” Rick says of Gareth and the rest of the people inside Terminus. Watch:
Rick didn’t say the f-bomb because AMC is a basic cable television network in the United States. This type of channel isn’t allowed to use certain “inappropriate” words.
Here’s the moment as it played out in the comic book:
According to the cast and crew, The Walking Dead season 5 will pick up exactly where we left off at the end of season 4 – the moment you see above. Rick, Glenn, Abraham, and the others are being held prisoners in a train car at Terminus after getting in a fight with the compound’s owners.
A big trailer for The Walking Dead season 5 was released at San Diego Comic-Con last month and reveals that Gareth is going to let Rick and company head off to Washington D.C. so they can find this supposed cure for the zombie infection.
