Happy Valentine’s Day, Voltron fans. We’ve got the best gift a fandom could ask for: the season 5 trailer.
With the tide turning in Team Voltron’s favor at the close of season 4, thanks to intervention from Lotor, the fight back against the Galra Empire appears to be making some significant strides.
However, with Lotor’s true allegiances unknown, the season 5 trailer asks the question on all our lips: Can Lotor be trusted?
Taking the trailer at face value, it would appear that Lotor is all-in on fighting for Team Voltron’s cause… for now. It’ll likely only last for as long as it is convenient for the Galran Prince, but the Paladins need as much of an advantage as they can get over a newly-awakened Zarkon.
There were several glimpses of moments that we’re incredibly excited to see play out. The white lion and Allura, for example, as well as some heavier focus on Lance. Perhaps we’ll get to explore his and Hunk’s friendship some more this season, and also get a glimpse of him stepping up as Shiro’s current right-hand man. (And was that Lance as the Black Paladin? Does that mean they lost Shiro again? Get a tracker on that boy!)
The action throughout the trailer certainly wasn’t lacking – especially from Keith, still on the Blade of Marmora, and the Paladins. And, with Zarkon promising a new age of warfare, it is likely that Team Voltron and the Coalition have their toughest battles ahead of them.
The synopsis for season 5 reads, “Shocked by Prince Lotor coming to their rescue in the fight against the evil witch Haggar, the Paladins struggle with whether or not they can really trust him. Though suspicious, Team Voltron is able to liberate more rebels with the aid of Lotor’s intel. Just as things start to look hopeful, Zarkon strikes, resulting in a shocking chain of events.”
‘Voltron’ season 5 premieres on Netflix on March 2
Keep an eye on Hypable for more Voltron: Legendary Defender content, leading up to season 5. Including an exclusive interview with Bex Taylor-Klaus and Blake Anderson.
With Hobbs and Shaw officially a success, it’s time for the Fast and Furious franchise to consider other spinoff films to keep the franchise going in perpetuity.
I have been covering Puffs for Hypable for three and a half years, so as it’s about to close on August 18, here is my reflection on what this show has meant to me.
Taylor Swift’s Lover is almost here. Here’s everything we know about the album, so far.
There’s a lot to love in the imperfect picture of family and creativity that is Where’d You Go Bernadette, especially if you’re a diehard Cate Blanchett fan.
Carnival Row is fantasy that fucks.
Will Byers’s story line in Stranger Things season 3 reminded me exactly why I love this show so much.
Why was the cure necessary if Cisco is just sticking around for another season?
Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus is as hilarious, absurd and maniacal as ever — but with a surprising amount of heart, too.
After being postponed, Megan Whalen Turner’s The Queen’s Thief book 6 has a new release date. When will the wait for Return of the Thief be over?
Looks like fans of Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before will get to spend next Valentine’s Day weekend with Lara Jean Covey, Peter Kavinsky, and John Ambrose!
