Another 2011 overview list has been published today – this time by television recording service Tivo. In it, we learn which particular moments in specific television episodes were most rewound by viewers.
The Hollywood Reporter had a first look at the details:
Returning to more nearly 28 million viewers, Two and a Half Men’s September eulogy to Charlie Sheen’s character ranked as the second-most time-shifted moment of the year, trailing February’s Super Bowl XLV when Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Rothlisberger threw an incomplete pass to Mike Wallace in the final minutes of the Steelers’ loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Rounding out the top five were The King’s Speech winning best picture during the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, which landed at No. 3, and a pair of moments on ABC’s Modern Family — from its Nov. 16 “After the Fire” and Oct. 12 “Hit and Run” episodes.
The company also noted that of all the TiVo recording and time-shifting during the year, the most time-shifted programs on broadcast television were on the CW, with The Vampire Diaries, 90210, Gossip Girl and Smallville all viewed in a time-shifted mode more than 83 percent of the time.
