Daniel Waters, the script writer for Vampire Academy, announced via the official Vampire Academy twitter that Eddie will not be cast for Blood Sisters. Check out the official details.
Vampire Academy official Twitter statement:
Don’t hate me, but as you can imagine, it has been a tremendous challenge squeezing Vampire Academy’s many wonderful pages into a feature-length script. To give our main characters the soul, complexity, and dimension they deserve, some of the more supporting characters have suffered. For this reason, Team Vampire Academy has decided to postpone Eddie Castile’s intro until a hoped-for adaptation of Frostbite.
As with all adaptations, writers and directors want to get the best actors for a role. Considering Eddie’s role in Blood Sisters isn’t substantial, Waters says it was difficult to find high caliber actors for the part. He went on to say that the role would most likely be cast for Frostbite, “where Eddie’s role is more full-bodied.”
Frequently with book adaptations, certain minor characters aren’t included in the film adaptation, while sometimes two characters may even be turned into one. It doesn’t look as though this will be the case with Eddie, but it appears as though we won’t be seeing him until an adaption is made of the Vampire Academy book two, Frostbite.
Filming will begin in London the week of May 27. The cast currently includes Lucy Fry, Zoey Deutch, and Danila Kozlovski as the leads. The most recent additions to the film’s cast include Monaghan as Mason, Sami Gayle as Mia, Ashley Charles as Jesse, and Claire Foy as Karp. Mark Waters will be directing Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, and the film’s script was penned by Daniel Waters.
