Uggie the Dog, best known for his role as “The Dog” in the Oscar winning film The Artist, has died.
TMZ reports Uggie was put down last week after developing a tumor. “The last few weeks were especially difficult,” the report says.
Uggie’s trainer Sarah Clifford told TMZ that he was a “perfect little terrier,” adding, “I will forever hold him dearly in my heart and never forget his infinite love for chicken and hotdogs.”
Whether or not you saw Uggie in The Artist, it’s very likely you saw him at that year’s Oscar ceremony. Uggie would appear on stage with the rest of the cast and crew when they won their various Oscars:
