Helstrom vet Amanda Segel is heading to HBO to pen one of the many Game of Thrones spinoffs currently in production at the premium cable network.
According to Deadline, Amanda Segel has officially signed on to serve as writer on the Game of Thrones spinoff series, 10,000 Ships.
First announced in March of this year, 10,000 ships is set about a thousand years prior to the events of A Song of Ice and Fire. The series will center on the story of Princess Nymeria, following her journey to Dorn with the Rhoynar, where she eventually married Lord Mors Martell.
10,000 Ships is one of many Game of Thrones prequels currently in various stages of development over at HBO.
A few others that are in the works include a series about King’s Landing’s poorest district, Flea Bottom. In addition, there’s also 9 Voyages, which would focus on the Sea Snake himself, Lord Corlys Velaryon. Lord Corlys is married to Rhaenys Targaryen and is well known for commanding the largest navy in the world. He’s also incredibly well traveled, and well known for his adventures at sea.
But before Thrones fans can check out what Amanda Segel cooks up for 10,000 Ships, they’ll be able to sink their teeth into House of the Dragon.
Set to debut in 2022, House of the Dragon is based off of George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood— a historic retelling of the saga of House Targaryen.
Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see 10,000 Ships debut via HBO.
