‘True Blood’ season 6 on-set photos reveal first look at new villain Maclyn

In October we had learned that Rutger Hauer was cast in True Blood’s sixth season, and now we’re getting our first look at the seemingly crazy character.

Macklyn is “a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason.” Macklyn is rumored to be the person who killed the Stackhouse kids’ parents. In the photos below taken by paparazzi, we see a character with a wild and wicked hairstyle. He looks like a very old character, which nicely connects into his “deep ties” description. At least in this episode, he appears to be friendly with Jason.

The photos were taken Tuesday, March 12 on set in Los Angeles, California. True Blood is about halfway through filming its sixth season. Last week we surprisingly learned that showrunner Mark Hudis, who only stepped in at the start of this season to replace creator Alan Ball, has left the project. Hudis was replaced by executive producer Bryan Buckner. True Blood season six will premiere this summer. It will have a ten-episode run, which is shorter than the shows past five seasons. Before departing the production, Hudis said that the focus in the storyline was going to move back to Bon Temps and have fewer story lines.

How do you think Hauer looks in character? We think he’s looking like a refreshing addition to the cast. He looks like he could have a dash of crazy. We’ve missed a wicked character on the show following Marnie Stonebrook’s departure at the end of season four.
