HBO just premiered True Blood season 6, episode 7 “In The Evening.” Now it’s time to sound off about tonight’s storyline.
In True Blood season 6, episode 7, poisoned Tru Blood continues to kill Nora as Eric takes her out of the factory and brings her to Bill out of desperation to save her.
Sarah comes across Truman at his home, where she finds him dead (and his head severed from his body to boot). She promises his lifeless head that his death was not in vain. She draws up a plan to pretend he remains alive so that she can ensure that the infected Tru Blood will get onto store shelves.
In the next scene, we see Sookie and Ben post sex, and our leading lady makes it clear that their love making didn’t forge a commitment. Their talk is interrupted by Arlene who’s crying in the cemetery. She goes to visit her mourning friend and Arlene explains how Terry died.
We cut to Sam who gives Lafayette a call, and the latter character fills him in on the news of Terry’s death. He tells his new partner, Nicole, he’s got to leave. Moments later in their plot line, they have a steamy love making session in the shower. Her mom picks her up – but not before leaving Sam her number.
In the next scene, we see Jason and Jessica unite – the latter came to help her and promises to take her out of captivity. Jessica doesn’t accept his offer, but he does ask him to bring James to her so she can thank him “face to face.” Once together, James reveals he’s been turned into a vampire. She asks if they can have sex because she feels she’s one of a few who still have humanity, and he obliges.
Sookie and Lafayette visit a bank to open a lockbox of Terry’s, where they find life insurance worth $2 million. They realize he took it out mere days ago, meaning he had planned his death.
Alcide and his father have a discussion on their farm, where they separate (his father stays there while Alcide returns to the pack). Later, the pack catches him lying about Emma.
At Bill’s house, Eric pleads with him again to give Nora his god-like blood. Bill offers a deal: He helps capture Warlow, and Bill will feed Nora. Bill also explains to Eric that it’s Warlow’s blood that let’s him poses his extra powers, not Lillith’s.
They try to feed Nora but Bill’s blood doesn’t help. Eric suggests Warlow’s blood will do the trick, and pleads with Bill to go get his.
Arlene comes home to tell her kids about the news of their father’s death. Sookie and Lafayette come back to Terry and Arlene’s house to find the new widow drunk. Moments later, Bill enters the house and offers his condolences. He then asks for a moment with Sookie, where he asks for more of his blood to get his “hypothetical” (Sookie’s word) prodigy.
Cutting to Pam, she’s visiting her therapist and hitting on him. She agrees to have sex with him if he lets her inside gen pop.
Speaking of gen pop, we see it during the next scene when Sarah meets Jason and gets her thrown into gen pop 1 where Tara and Willa are. The latter claims Jason as hers.
Continuing to grow more desperate to see Nora live, Eric prays to Godric to ask to save her. We flashback to London 1665, where Eric learns about Lady Gainsborough and agrees to take her out of poor conditions for his majesty so that he can continue to have sex with her. The Lady resists her majesty’s idea passed to her by Eric, which prompts Eric to turn her into a vampire (his dad will do the trick). The flashback ends, and Eric is in tears in present day. Eric and Nora continue to speak, and she dies in a very grotesque manner.
Next week’s episode of True Blood is season 6, episode 8 with the ominous title “A Change is Gonna Come” and airs Sunday, August 4 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on HBO. The official synopsis is as follows: “Sookie (Anna Paquin) faces a major dilemma in deciding whether to broker a deal between Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). In vamp camp, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) gets to know Violet (Karolina Wydra), while Sarah (Anna Camp) goes to extremes to keep Tru Blood flowing. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) makes a decision that will impact the futures of Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Sam (Sam Trammell).”
