Tom Holland is already leaking spoilers for his next project with the Russo Brothers.
Just kidding, he was allowed to share this first look photo from Cherry. At least, we think he was!
In Cherry, Tom Holland will shed Peter Parker’s boyish charm and step into the shoes of a veteran of the war in Iraq who’s suffering from PTSD. As his character is struggling to cope with his mental illness and drug addiction, he starts robbing banks to make ends meet.
Cherry is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who Tom has worked with before in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The movie is an adaptation of the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name, which was written by Nico Walker, who is currently serving time in prison for his crimes.

Tom Holland shared the first look from the movie on Instagram, which came in the form of a photo from the production, captioned with a quote from the Cherry novel: “No alarms. I’m a wanted man. They’ll kill me…”
Tom Holland is looking tougher than ever in this role, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to this character. Cherry will be released in theaters on January 1, 2020. The movie also stars Bill Skarsgård, Michael Gandolfini, Jack Reynor, Ciara Bravo, and Jeff Wahlberg.
