It all comes down to this. Who will prevail? Drill or Wes and Claire? We most certainly cannot wait to find out!
It’s been a long road since we first saw a little girl tempt her mother into a life-threatening situation because of her imaginary friend, Drill, and the ball started rolling on this whole crazy adventure. We’ve seen a nuclear meltdown that didn’t cause any trouble, a couple of tear-inducing deaths, and more electricity flickers than we know what to do with.
The journey to tonight’s episode of The Whispers, entitled “Game Over,” has been fraught with heart-wrenching and creepy moments, including a young boy having to sacrifice his brother to save Earth from Drill more than 20 years before, Henry being lured into a life-threatening situation in a nuclear cooling tower, and Lena Lawrence marching down a staircase to unload a clip of bullets into a man she didn’t even know.
We’ve certainly enjoyed watching The Whispers mystery unfold from the pilot, “X Marks the Spot,” all the way to last week’s “Traveller in the Dark.” We are anxious to see the end of this adventure, but we definitely want more from these characters too. Hopefully ABC will consider bringing the show back for a season 2 next summer, but, for now, we’ll just have to settle for making our fondness for the Bennigans and Lawrences show.
Check out the synopsis and a still from tonight’s episode. The game might be ending, but we’re sure Drill intends to go out with a bang.
Synopsis
“Drill’s mysterious end game is put into motion and the team must do their utmost to stop it before it reaches its final – and possibly deadly – conclusion.”
Still
There is exactly one, lonely, still for tonight’s episode, and all it tells us is that at some point, Henry joins his parents and Wes to try and put an end to Drill’s plans. Hopefully this doesn’t spell disaster for the Bennigans.
