The Walking Dead will soon be welcoming actress Hilarie Burton.
According to TV Line, One Tree Hill alum Hilarie Burton has signed on to appear in a guest starring role on AMC’s long running zombie drama, The Walking Dead.
Specifically, Burton is set to appear in the series as Lucille. Lucille, who serves as the namesake for Negan’s baseball bat, was also the infamous character’s late wife. It’s rumored that Lucille met her demise following a bout of pancreatic cancer some years ago. Either way, it’s looking like The Walking Dead is looking to pull the curtain back on her story and how that shaped the man so many came to fear.
That Hilarie Burton is gearing up to appear in the series as Negan’s wife is especially fitting given that in real life, the actress is married to Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Shortly after news broke, Burton took to her Twitter account on Tuesday (November 3) to share the great news with fans far and wide.
“Been pretty hard to keep this a secret. But I love working with [Jefrey Dean Morgan]. I love watching him become #Negan and take on that swagger. And I love the The Walking Dead family. They’ve been a part of our family for ages and I”m so grateful for their kindness.”
