The new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer is finally here, and it carries a HUGE shock at the end!

After the smashing success of The Force Awakens, expectations for the follow-up Star Wars movie The Last Jedi are sky-high.

While director Rian Johnson has cautioned that fans who want to remain unspoiled avoid this trailer, we’re gonna go ahead and watch (and squee) about it anyway! But be warned — the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer does, indeed, hold serious revelations for both the plot of the movie and the arcs of its major characters.

Especially Rey and Kylo Ren.

Like, for real.

The second instalment of the third Star Wars trilogy follows Rey (Daisy Ridley) as she learns more about her Jedi powers, mentored by none other than Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

Meanwhile Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) have their own problems, with Finn finding himself guided by newcomer Rose (Kelly-Marie Tran).

Adam Driver and Domhnall Gleeson return as the menacing duo Kylo Ren and General Hux; Lupita Nyong’o, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis reprise their roles, with newcomers Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern joining the fray.

Also starring is Carrie Fisher, in what will be her last appearance as General Leia Organa.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas on December 15, 2017.
