We all love Harry Potter and while the movies have done a fantastic job of adapting the books, we each have different opinions about what we would change. So if you could change seven aspects of the movies, what would they be?
Here are the rules:
– You get only seven changes
– You can not add/change whole plot lines (only change specific points)
– You do NOT have to change each movie
– You do NOT have to add aspects from the books
As an example I will give you my list here:
1. HP3 – Extended Shrieking Shack Scene
–It was never stated who the Marauders were, and that always annoyed me because it wouldn’t have taken much time.
2. HP5 – Sirius gives Harry the mirror
— Pretty explanatory. It would have made HP7 part 1 and 2 more coherent.
3. HP6 – Hepzibah Smith memory
–Out of all the horcruxes, it seems like the cup got the least back story. It would also be nice to see Tom at that age.
4. HP7 Part 1 – Have one of the Weasleys introduce Auntie Muriel
— If you did not read the books then you didn’t know who she was when talking to Harry at the Wedding.
5. HP7 Part 2 – Young Lily’s Eyes in Snape’s Memories
— I work in film and digital editing. It is not that hard or expensive to color correct something such as eyes.
6. HP7 Part 2 – Add the scene with Lupin and Tonks back
— It was in the deleted scenes and if it was added back you would see Tonks before she died and you would get mention of Teddy before the Resurrection Stone scene.
7. HP7 Part 2 – Extended scene where Harry tells Ron and Hermione that he is going to the forest
— It would have been more emotional if Ron was more emotional and if they physically tried to stop him from going. Harry could use protego to make a wall between them (much like Hermione did when she was breaking up the fight between Harry and Ron in the book) and then he could put on the Invisibility cloak so they couldn’t find him (plus we would get to see the cloak one last time).
So that’s it! When you are writing your list in the comments section below keep in mind the pacing of the movie and the different types of fans who watch them.
I welcome everybody to play the game and see what they come up with.
