While the TV season isn’t quite over for Games of Thrones, which is sure to add to the body count, the death of these characters was an event that shocked and saddened many. Unless, of course, we are talking about Joffrey in which case there may have been cheering. Has there ever been a character people wanted to see die more?

The death of Will Gardner on The Good Wife is by far the most devastating death because it was out of the blue. There had been no talk of him leaving the show, so when Will was shot in court and then pronounced dead we felt the same pain as Alicia.

The Walking Dead also brought the shock factor when not one but two characters were killed. First, Lizzie killed Mika because she was deluded into thinking zombies were better than humans, wanting her sister to become a zombie. In order to deal with Lizzie’s deluded thinking, Carol walked Lizzie out to a field of flowers and shot her.

This season also left us not knowing if certain characters are going to make it. For example, The Vampire Diaries ended with Damon supposedly dead and on the other side. And in a surprising move, The Walking Dead didn’t kill anyone in the finale, but almost everyone was trapped in the train car at Terminus, leaving us to believe the season opener could be bloody.
