Shipping wars may have divided The 100 fandom, but we can all agree on one thing: Raven Reyes deserves to be happy. But with who?
Raven Reyes, light of my life, my sun and stars — when will good things happen to you?
Although it’s been established twice now that The 100 has no good guys, clearly, Raven is one of the few characters on the show with very few ticks in her ‘morally ambiguous’ column. Arguably, the closest she ever came to doing A Bad Thing was trying to sacrifice Murphy to save Finn (after he’d shot her, mind) in season 2.
And yet Raven is also one of the people who’s suffered the most, probably in no small part because the writers want to show off Lindsey Morgan’s incredible, gut-wrenching acting skills.
The 100 season 3 was hard on everyone, but between dealing with overwhelming chronic pain, torturing herself out of ALIE’s mind control and having ALIE slash her wrists, and then finally being ripped out of the City of Light in a truly harrowing way only to immediately lose Sinclair, we’d say it’s high time Raven had a bit of a break.

With her new superbrain helping her overcome the return of her pain, and the apocalypse a good six months away (that’s like 10 years in show time), now’s the perfect time to find Raven a significant other that isn’t going to die or disappear in a puff of smoke.
Some fans want to see Raven connect with Jasper, letting them bond over their shared experiences of losing and regaining their pain (both mental and physical). And just so it’s clear: We’d be all for those two lost souls finding peace with one another.
But there are other options for Raven too, specifically Clarke and Octavia. The Princess Mechanic and Octaven ships both have strong fan followings, and have been around since season 1, and it would be incredibly ignorant and heteronormative of us to assume that Raven is straight just because we haven’t yet seen her with a female love interest (especially on this show!). There’s no reason to assume Raven can’t find love with a woman, so let’s consider all the possibilities.
After the popularity of the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend and #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend hashtags on Twitter, The 100 fans got in on the fun with #GiveRavenReyesAGirlfriend (and #GiveBellamyBlakeABoyfriend, another awesome idea). Here are some of the best tweets arguing for Raven finding love with either Clarke or Octavia:
Team Princess Mechanic
After the tragic end to the Clexa ship, introducing a new bisexual lead character would be a fantastic sign of inclusivity from The 100‘s side.
Of course Raven wouldn’t need to be with Clarke to provide powerful representation, but Princess Mechanic certainly has been a favored option among the fans who don’t want to see Clarke dating a male character so soon after losing Lexa. (Although a good counter-argument is that perhaps Clarke shouldn’t date anyone for a while — and, when she moves on, her bisexuality obviously won’t be ‘erased’ even if she finds love with a man rather than a woman.)
Raven and Clarke’s relationship has been special ever since Raven landed on the ground and Clarke immediately backed off Finn, the two young women both recognizing that there were more important things than fighting over a boy. Considering that Clarke and Raven were basically two sides of the same coin in the season 3 finale, working together to take down ALIE in the City of Light, it would be a pleasant surprise to see the pair explore their relationship in season 4.

Team Octaven
Raven and Octavia have both been through some sh** this year. While Raven struggled to overcome ALIE and her own pain, Octavia lost the love of her life, and it looks like she’s heading down a dark path in season 4. Unlike Clarke, Raven, Jasper and Monty, her grief wasn’t countered by a sense of victory after defeating ALIE — rather, Octavia ended the season on a bitter note, killing Pike even after he helped her and leaving the Polis throne room (and Bellamy) bitter and defeated.
We don’t even know if Raven and Octavia will be in the same vicinity in season 4, but if they are, perhaps Raven is just the right person to give Octavia a dose of reality, and show her that she can find love again. We’d be all for these two kickass warrior women exploring a new side to their relationship!

(Note: While Raven/Abby has always been a very popular ship for Raven as well, Abby’s current involvement with Kane makes it somewhat unlikely, and surprisingly, I’ve seen no presence of Doctor Mechanic in the hashtag. But I didn’t forget you guys: It’s still an option on the poll!)
Now, whether Raven’s future — assuming she has one — lies with Jasper, Octavia, Clarke or someone else, we can all hopefully agree that the overall ship here is Raven/happiness. For however long it lasts, she’s earned it.
But we all have our preferences, so let’s find out whether The 100 fans really want to see the show give Raven Reyes a girlfriend in season 4!

So, what say you: Should Raven find herself a girlfriend?
The 100 returns in January of 2017, so we’ve got plenty of time to speculate.
