‘Sleepy Hollow’ (Fox)
September 22, 9:00 p.m.
Sleepy Hollow was without a doubt one of the best new fall premieres last season, and we’re absolutely thrilled to see Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills come back to our television sets! With so much more supported garnered behind the show and the world already built, this season has nowhere to go but up – we have two Horsemen of the Apocalypse already in town and a whole family dynamic between Ichabod, Katrina and Henry, so things are bound to get interesting.
‘The Blacklist’ (NBC)
September 22, 10:00 p.m.
The first season of The Blacklist was an intense ride as Raymond Reddington introduced the FBI to the blacklist, the worst criminals no one knows exist. Of course Red is on the FBI’s most wanted list put isn’t willing to relinquish control. The biggest mystery of the season is what is Red’s interest in FBI agent Liz Keen and there are many possibilities as Liz’s past isn’t an open book. Season 2 will see the Red and the FBI fighting it out with Berlin, the big bad with a personal vendetta against Red. The big question is did Liz’s husband die after being revealed as a spy? Will Liz find a new relationship with Agent Ressler? The Blacklist is sure to bring the drama and the laughs as only Red can do.
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ (ABC)
Tuesday, September 23, 9:00 p.m.
Life was good for Agent Coulson and his team when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. began – but everything changed when the Fire Nation HYDRA attacked.
One day, the team was about to apprehend the Clairvoyant. Then next, S.H.I.E.L.D. had collapsed under the weight of Captain America’s discovery that HYDRA had been hiding within the organization since its inception.
Agent Garrett was revealed to be the Clairvoyant, and Grant Ward his duplicitous toady. Team Coulson was forced underground, still hoping to cut off at least one of HYDRA’s heads. Defying the odds, Coulson and his team were able to pull off a win. Garrett was defeated (twice), Ward apprehended, and Mike Peterson freed from his tortured role as Deathlok. Nick Fury appointed Coulson Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., with a toolbox to help.
But all is far from well. Fitz is fighting for his life. The team is still hunted and in hiding. Skye’s unknown origins are coming back to haunt her, in the form of a very freaky father.
And the symptoms of the miracle drug GH-325 are at last making themselves known to Coulson, who ended the season numbly carving a collage of alien symbols into the wall. Who can Team Coulson trust, if they can’t even trust themselves?
‘Mysteries of Laura’ (NBC)
Wednesday, September 24, 8:00 p.m.
The Mysteries of Laura, a new cop dramedy that follows Laura Diamond who spends her days on the streets as an NYPD homicide detective and her nights wrangling her twin sons from PTA meetings to tucking them into bed. The show stars NBC alum, Debra Messing (Will and Grace, Smash) and Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama) as a soon to be divorced couple with Lucas’ cop character respiring his role as the husband who won’t sign the papers. Hopefully the show will be able to stake a claim in the tricky buddy cop/parenthood realm, but with NBC’s track record of pilot cancellations, I’m not holding my breath.
‘Bones’ (Fox)
Thursday, September 25, 8:00 p.m.
With Booth now in jail because of last year’s finale, Bones is set to be an amazing season as Brennan and the team try to solve the case that sent him there. We can’t wait to see Brennan in action again, and see the rest of the Jeffersonian crew work together to bring Booth home. Plus, Sweets has an incredibly story line coming up with Daisy and that just adds the icing to the cake!
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ (ABC)
September 25, 8:00 p.m.
Grey’s Anatomy season 11 is kicking off and I’m a little skeptical now that Cristina is no longer on the show. But that doesn’t mean that I’m lost as a fan.
With the new twist of Maggie, I’m interested to see how Meredith will react to the news. She still has other half-sisters from her father but the only one she ever really connected with was Lexie. After everything Meredith has been through who knows what she’ll do!
This also brings Weber back into the game. In season 10 I felt as though his storyline distanced him from the rest of the characters. It was weird and I didn’t like it. But now he’s relevant again!
Now that Amelia is planning to stay in Seattle it should be interesting to see how she settles into the hospital. I’d like to see her get close to Meredith but some others too. Plus who’s side will she pick on the Seattle vs. D.C. debate?
Most of all, I’m ready to see where Alex and Jo’s relationship is going to go. They’re currently my favorite couple. They bring the show back to the same feeling as the first few seasons.
