Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer released the first photo of the full* Suicide Squad squad on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
The photo depicts all of the characters in what looks to be a crazy adaptation of DC’s Suicide Squad comics. “Task Force X assembled and ready,” wrote Ayer on Twitter.
*There’s just one problem with the photo: The Joker, played by Jared Leto, is missing. Ayer likely left him out so everyone’s attention remains focused on the rest of the cast and not another Joker preview.
Here’s the photo in full. From left to right the characters are: Slipknot (Adam Beach), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and El Diablo (Jay Hernandez).
Update: Curious what Smith’s Deadshot looks like with his headwear on? Ayer just released a second photo:

So far the reactions to the photo are mixed. The costumes are surprisingly goofy — is this what the film will feel like?
Dawn of justice looks worse by the second, and now #SuicideSquad is crushing my anticipation. So much source material is being wasted here

How dare these directors not come up with costumes that appease every fanboy in existence! They should all be fired. #SuicideSquad

The director was smart to release this photo on a Sunday evening when the news world is slow. Thanks to releasing this on a weekend, everyone is talking about the photo despite The Joker’s absence.
If you want to see what Leto’s Joker looks like, look no further than this official photo depicting the green-haired villain with a body full of tattoos.
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016 — five months after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres.
