If you’ve been enjoying the first season of Stumptown or Mixed-ish, you’re in luck! ABC has given both of its freshman shows a full season order.
ABC’s Stumptown and Mixed-Ish both opened to favorable reviews, with Stumptown scoring a 94% on the popular review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes and Mixed-ish coming at fresh with a 71% overall rating among critics.
To date, Mixed-ish has just over 5 million viewers per episode, while Stumptown averages just under 8 million viewers an episode. Those numbers were all the convincing needed for ABC, which today picked up both of its newest shows for a full season order. Mixed-ish received an additional nine episodes to its season, though it was still unknown the total amount of episodes that Stumptown would end up with.
“This fall, Stumptown has delivered a rich, inventive and fun thrill ride each week with a stellar cast that features one of the most fearless female characters at the center; ‘mixed-ish’ has established itself as one of the sharpest, funniest and most original new comedies of the season,” said Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment. “We’re so proud of this great crop of shows that are all off to strong starts this fall, and we can’t wait to bring more fantastic episodes to our schedule this season.”
Mixed-ish is a spinoff series of the critically-acclaimed ABC comedy Black-ish. It focuses on the early life of Rainbow “Bow” Johnson, who is played by Tracee Ellis Ross in Black-ish.

Stumptown is based on the graphic novel of the same name written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Matthew Southworth and Justin Greenwood. It follows damaged ex-military turned private detective Dex Parios played by Cobie Smulders. In addition to Smulders, the series stars Jake Johnson as Grey McConnell, Tantoo Cardinal as Sue Lynn Blackbird, Cole Sibus as Ansel Parios, Adrian Martinez as Tookie, with Camryn Manheim as Lieutenant Cosgrove and Michael Ealy as Detective Miles Hoffman.
