With just over a month to go until Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters, various promotional elements are appearing quickly and furiously.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ theme unveiled
Perhaps one of the most exciting items this morning is the unveiling of Star Trek Into Darkness composer Michael Giacchino’s theme for the film, which premiered with the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra. Naturally someone was there to film it for YouTube, and you can listen to the Star Trek Into Darkness theme below:
Giacchino is known for his close relationship with director J.J. Abrams. The two have worked together on every one of Abrams’ films.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ character posters
Four great Star Trek Into Darkness character posters have been surfacing one by one over the past few days, and now you can see the complete collection below. Each poster features a particular character in an action sequence.
The characters are: John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch), James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), Nyota Uhura (Zoe Saldana), and Spock (Zachary Quinto).

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ TV Spot
At last night’s MTV Movie Awards, a new TV spot was unleashed. It focuses on Kirk’s “reputation” for not following rules and is light on new footage. Presumably this commercial was designed to appeal to MTV’s younger crowd:
Star Trek Into Darkness opens May 17.
