The younger cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming is expanding with the latest addition of Michael Barbieri!
Tom Holland’s introduction as a young Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War has fans on the edge of their seats for the release of his solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. So far we already know that the film will also include Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Michael Keaton as The Vulture, Zendaya as Michelle, Tony Revolori as Manuel, and Laura Harrier, whose role has yet to be announced.
Another young one has been added to the cast according to a report by Heroic Hollywood. Up and coming actor Michael Barbieri has been added to the star-studded cast to play one of Peter’s friends. Apparently he originally tried out for the role of Peter Parker himself but did land a role elsewhere on the cast.
You may know Barbieri from his work on Killer or Little Men. He is also currently working on the film The Dark Tower.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a reboot of the franchise and will begin with a much younger Peter Park than portrayed before on film. Sony and Marvel have partnered together to produce the film while Marvel has been given creative control of Spider-Man. It’s also believed that Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie, set for release in 2018, will focus on Miles Morales.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
