SNL alum Tracy Morgan poked fun at his recent accident in the first promo videos for his hosting debut this weekend.
Tracy Morgan will make his big return to show business this weekend following his tragic car accident from 2014 that left him in the hospital for an extended period of time. It seems like Morgan hasn’t missed a step in these first promotional sketches for his appearance as host of SNL.
In the video posted on the official SNL Youtube account, he pokes a little bit of fun towards his car accident as he tricks Bobby Moynihan in to thinking he can’t remember his time on the show. That is followed up by him saying Moynihan owed him money only to realize that he has mistaken him for Horatio Sanz. “Happens all the time,” says Moynihan.
Here’s hoping Morgan reprises his role as Brian Fellows!
Though Tracy Morgan’s return to Saturday Night Live will definitely be a highlight moment for both the comedian and the show, his stint as host was slightly eclipsed this week when it was announced that Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump would be hosting in November. Trump, who has hosted The Apprentice, and makes weekly headlines for his provocative comments surrounding American issues, won’t be the first Presidential candidate to host the late night comedy show. In 2004, Presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton also hosted while simultaneously running for office.
SNL will take a brief hiatus after this week’s new episode before Trump returns as host on November 7.
