Jessica Chastain hosted SNL this week with musical guest Troye Sivan. Check out some of the highlights from this week’s hilarious episode.
Trump Doctor Cold Open
In this week’s cold open, SNL took on the recent news about Donald Trump’s medical exam. The results were somewhat hard to believe with the sketch emphasizing the absurdity of it all. The sketch also includes a special reporter in the audience from Saturday Night Live.
Jessica Chastain Monologue
Host Jessica Chastain used her opening monologue to talk about being a strong powerful woman. Chastain is joined by some female cast members to create their own version of the Women’s March in Studio 8H, which happened on the same day.
What Even Matters Anymore
Jessica Chastain played a host of a game show called “What Even Matters Anymore?” In the game, she says something that the President has said and then asks the contestants whether they think it matters that he said it. The sketch highlights some of the absurd things that President has said over his first year in office. “Zero consequences and everyone just moves on,” Chastain says in the sketch.
The sketch also features Chastain and the cast of SNL breaking the fourth wall and abandoning their characters.
In one sketch of the night, Chastain players a character at dinner with a friend who just can’t seem to figure out what it means to get an extra taco for free. She’s joined by Aidy Bryant’s character, who is just willing to pay for everyone’s taco to get it over with. But, as expected, even that is confusing to the guests.
Troye Sivan joined SNL this week as the musical guest. Check out his performances of “My My My” and “The Good Side.”
