The Shannara Chronicles returns tonight and we have 5 teasers ready to wet your appetite in anticipation for the season premiere.

If you didn’t get the memo, here’s your final warning that Shannara is finally returning to TV. We’ve endured a year long wait, a renewal that was up in the air, and a network change, but we finally made it.

To get fans just a little more pumped for tonight’s episode, we’re sharing 5 teasers about tonight’s season premiere. And before long, you’ll be in on all the scoop. Let’s do this!

There’s a one year time jump — kind of

Anyone following our Shannara season two coverage knows that the show will be picking up a year since we last left our heroes. Although that’s technically true, we actually pick up immediately where we left off. If you wanted to know who Eretria recognized at the end of season one, you’re in luck because that’s exactly where the show opens. After that reveal is when we jump forward.

Keep your eye on Mareth

We know quite a bit about the new characters coming into season two of Shannara. Especially Lyria and her mother. But in general, the show has been pretty tight lipped about Mareth and her whole story. For good reason we find out. I can’t say more, but as of now I’m most intrigued about who she is and where she may be going this season.

Eretria is still a bae

Guys, Eretria is so wonderful. I don’t think I’ll ever get past it. Unlike Wil, all the progress she made in season one has remained and her resilience is as strong as ever. We can’t say where she’s been or who she’s been with, but in typical Eretria fashion she’s made the most of her time apart from her friends.

Wil is not doing well

Again, we don’t want to give anything away, but Wil isn’t his best self these days. Although he’s clearly trying to put together some semblance of a new life — it’s unclear how successful he’s actually becoming with that endeavor. Austin Butler mentioned to us at NYCC that he really played with Wil’s despair this season and that’s immediately evident from episode one.

The special effects are incredible

After watching the season premiere of The Shannara Chronicles I honestly don’t know how their entire CGI budget wasn’t used up on the first episode. The scope of what they manage to generate is kind of incredible. As someone who sometimes struggles to get lost in the fantasy genre — I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making this world look as believable as possible. Get ready for some mind boggling imagery.

The Shannara Chronicles season 2 premieres tonight, October 11 at 10 PM on Spike TV.
