“The world is ready for a woman president,” Cyrus says in this week’s Scandal. But which woman?
The official synopsis for “The Candidate” reads that “Mellie seeks out Olivia’s help but may not be prepared for what that entails, and Liz tries to convince Susan Ross to run for the presidency.”
As excited as we are about Mellivia blossoming into a fearsome goddess reign, there’s no denying Liz is dangerous competition. With all we’ve learned about her this season so far, she seems willing to do pretty much anything it takes. In addition, according to ABC’s sneak peek, Mellie can stand to step up her game. Did anyone else get chills when Olivia told her exactly who she was dealing with, again?

On a less lady-reared topic, Fitz meets an intriguing new journalist who he’ll be spending more time with as she interviews him this week. Cyrus is less than thrilled, but guest star Annabeth Bish already won us over with her quick wit and confident manner. Fitz likes confident women, too…
All of this on top of the fact that Joe Morton’s contract has been upped to a series regular, we’re learning today! This obviously means we’ll be seeing more of him. Because our nightmares about him don’t come often enough as is. After his pep talk with Olivia last week, and Jake’s new position of power, we imagine he’ll be keeping plenty busy trying to run the country from the backseat.
