The latest sneak peek of Fox’s take on The Rocky Horror Picture Show warps time to include the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Tim Curry in a new role.
Brad! Janet! Rocky! Dr. Scott! Tim! The legendary actor who made waves as the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Tim Curry, is featured in the latest trailer as the Criminologist Narrator offering those helpful instructions for the participants of the “Time Warp.”
The new cast will feature Laverne Cox taking on the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter with Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan as the wayward travelers Janet and Brad. The two-hour event is slated to air on Fox this Halloween. It will be Fox’s second musical special, but unlike Grease it will not be performed live.
The trailer pays homage to the legions of fans who flock to theaters sometimes weekly for midnight performances of the film. While the action plays out on screen, there are rituals held in the seats for “virgin” attendees, elaborate costumes, and most importantly plenty of jeering and singing. They are definitely not for the faint of heart and are most certainly not PG. If you have not attended one of these immersive experiences, can you really say you’ve seen Rocky Horror?
