We treated the two-part finale as one giant episode this week! After a recap of both episodes and a reveal of our favorite quotes, we touched on these discussion points:
Episodes 1×11 “Formality” and 1×12 “Code Breaker”
– Peter is definitely competing with Kate as one of the creepiest characters on the show. But we still like him better.
– Has Scott ever taken note of his mom’s emotional state previously when it comes to guys? How many dates has she gone out on since leaving Scott’s dad?
– Is Allison punishing Lydia by making her go to the formal with Stiles, or is she simply asking for a favor?
– Derek didn’t tell anyone about him and Kate. It’s clear he still feels extremely guilty. He’s beyond even Grumpy Cat Sad now.
– More talk about how we think Stiles is really ruthless underneath it all. Would it be dangerous if he became a werewolf? Is that why he refused the bite when Peter offered it to him?
– We love Scott’s tactic of dancing with Danny, and how – only on this show – Coach is the one who gets the strange looks, not the two boys dancing!
– Do we think that Jackson really thought through the consequences before deciding he wants to become a werewolf?
– Were the hunters trying to kill Scott when they cornered him with their cars? (Side note: This scene had the potential to be pure cheese. But it wasn’t. Yay, strong writing and good acting!)
– We think Peter is classy. All the more reason to like him.
– Our love of Stiles will never fade or get old. He continues to sass Peter and try everything in his power to help Scott, even if it means putting himself in danger.
– Derek is projecting again.
– Why wouldn’t people “outside this family” want Allison to know about werewolves? Is this in reference to Gerard, or something else too?
– Was Derek conflicted about killing Peter? Did he do it because he wanted to avenge Laura, or because he wanted to become the Alpha?
– Does Victoria really not believe Kate set the fire? Does Chris?

– Teen Wolf’s social media team released a behind-the-scenes video of first day back at Beacon Hills High! Dylan and Posey reading fan mail, and Natalie is already cringing at the next instalment and what may be in store for Hoechlin.
– Apparently, we have listeners in high places! OMG!

– Do we think the level of interaction that fandom has with showrunners and actors is a good thing or a bad thing?
– This turns into some weird existential discussion about accessibility and how it should foster loyalty – how it should be the thing to make people treat a celebrity with more personal respect, not less, and how sometimes fandom seems to get this very wrong.
