Watch Elizabeth Banks try to fantasy-cast herself as Marvel’s new Spider-Man, while the Pitch Perfect 2 cast members give (somewhat) more realistic suggestions.

In case you didn’t know, Marvel is looking for a new actor to play Spider-Man.

From everything we’ve been told so far, we know the new Spider-Man actor will be young, white, and committed to a total of four films chronicling Peter Parker’s high school experience.

The character is set to debut in Captain America: Civil War, which has already started shooting, so time’s running out. Right now, it looks like Ender’s Game actor Asa Butterfield has the role all but wrapped up, but as long as nothing has been confirmed, we can still speculate!

In a short video feature, MTV cleverly asked the cast of Pitch Perfect 2 to share their thoughts on the important Spider-Man casting, and some interesting new options are now on the table:

Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks admits she’d like to see Marvel suddenly turn around and genderswap the role, but as that’s probably definitely not going to happen, we suppose we’ll leave that idea for the fanfiction authors.

Hailee Steinfeld also wants to be Spider-Man, incidentally, but she and Brittany Snow both agree that Dylan O’Brien (who has allegedly been a contender for the role) would be a good fit.

Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine pitch themselves as Spider-Girl and Spider-Man respectively, while Skylar Astin and Ben Platt still think Andrew Garfield is playing the role (jeez guys, that is so 2014.)

‘Pitch Perfect 2’ hits cinemas on May 15!
